Optimising Cooling Tower Performance and Noise Control for a Pharmaceutical Plant

The Challenge

A large engineering house contracted CTANDA to address performance and noise concerns associated with an existing cooling tower in a pharmaceutical facility. While the initial focus was on optimising cooling efficiency, noise reduction became a critical priority for the project.

Comprehensive Scope of Work

CTANDA included Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) within the project scope to allow for precise control of fan speed and further optimise cooling performance while minimising noise generation.

Heated control panels were also supplied to ensure optimal temperature regulation within the cooling tower.

For enhanced water quality and system efficiency, CTANDA incorporated side stream filtration equipment.

Positive Outcome

By addressing the initial performance concerns, the project successfully ensured the cooling tower met the required cooling duty for the pharmaceutical facility.

The integration of the M1 unit significantly reduced noise levels, bringing them within the acceptable range for the site layout and operational needs.

Through collaborative problem-solving, comprehensive service offerings, and expert execution, CTANDA delivered a solution that exceeded the client’s expectations, resulting in a highly satisfied customer.

Testimonial

I worked with CTANDA on a large-scale cooling tower installation. All the staff were most helpful and the product arrived on time and in good order. I would definitely work with them again.
